Do I need a special OBD2 adapter?

AIscanAuto works with any standard ELM327 Bluetooth or Wi-Fi adapter. You can find reliable adapters on Amazon for $5–$30. We recommend Bluetooth 4.0+ adapters for the best experience.

Which cars are supported?

All petrol and diesel vehicles manufactured after 1996 are supported (OBD2 standard). This includes virtually every car sold in the US, EU, and most other markets. Electric vehicles with OBD2 ports are also partially supported.

What does the AI actually do?

When a fault code is detected, our AI explains the cause in plain language, rates the severity (can I drive? should I stop immediately?), lists likely causes in order of probability, and gives step-by-step repair guidance.

Is the Free plan really free?

Yes, forever. The Free plan lets you read and clear fault codes, view basic sensor data, and decode your VIN — at no cost. The Pro plan unlocks AI analysis and advanced features.

What is a DTC / fault code?

A DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is a code stored by your car's ECU when it detects a problem. Common examples: P0300 (engine misfire), P0171 (lean fuel mixture). AIscanAuto reads these codes and explains what each one means for your specific car.
